Today, the heroine from Eileen Troemel’s latest space romance is visiting. Let’s get started…

For the record, what’s your name?

Hello. I am Princess Jabulile. It’s pronounced Jaboolela. In my language, it means happy but strong one. My family and friends call me Jabu.

What do you look like?

I’m curvy with brown skin and brown eyes. I have tightly curly black hair.

What time period does your story take place?

Hmmm well I guess I’m in the future for you. My story takes place on a space station. You may have heard about Princess Margarita and Prince John’s story.

I love futuristic tales! What’s your goal in this story?

My only goal as I’m traveling to the space station is to protect my niece, Thembesa. We pronounce her name as Tembesa. For short, we call her Themba. There have been several attempts on her life. My mother is friends with Mel’s, Princess Margarita, mother. She says they’ll be able to protect Themba. I’ll take any help I can get. Themba’s parents were killed by a bomb a year ago. I’ve lost my sister, I cannot lose her daughter.

II wish you the best of luck in protecting your niece. What conflicts are you facing?

Someone is attempting to wipe out my mother’s line. My niece who is the heir to the crown and I are in danger. I must protect her. Thankfully, Mel and John have helped me. Charlie, he brought in his friends, to protect her and me I guess. He’s been very sweet. Themba trusts him.

There’s always safety in numbers. What did you think the first time you saw Charlie?

Charlie saved my life. Themba rushed out when we docked on the space station. Prince John scooped her up and Charlie grabbed me. I was so worried about her, I didn’t expect help. It was such a relief but I was terrified because people were shooting lasers at us. So many were hurt and killed. It was chaos and horrible. But he was steady. He carried Themba back to Mel’s suite. He made sure she was safe and protected. I got a laser score across my arm. He was so tender and sweet when he cleaned it. He made sure Themba didn’t realize how upset I was.

Wow! That must’ve been a hard and stressful time. What is the best piece of advice you ever received?

It sounds harsh but in the midst of an emergency, Mel told me “Dry up, get a grip, or get out.” She reminded me to set aside the emotions which were overwhelming me so I could be part of the solution.

Sometimes harsh is needed. Why do you think your author chose to write about you?

Oh the author wrote the story to show the true side of what it’s like to be a princess. She likes to get behind the scenes and explore things most of us would like to hide. It’s annoying but I think it helps people to see us as people and not just as princesses. She has more planned. I’m not sure how Mel will feel about it but the next one is going to be good!

Awesome! Thank you so much for chatting with me today.

“We’ll keep you safe,” Charlie reassured. “I know my brother. He’s good at protecting.”

“I trust the Finnians but this might be…” she stopped speaking as she glanced at her niece again.

“Princess Jabulile, believe me when I tell you, you will be safe. I’ll stand between you and danger every time,” he assured realizing he meant it and not as a comfort lip service.

“You have no idea why,” Jabu swallowed and felt herself lose a bit of control. She sucked in her full lip and turned her head away from Charlie.

Charlie leaned in, held her close and covered the woman’s distress. “This antisepctic stings,” he explained as he wrapped his arms around her. Soothingly, he rubbed her back and felt her body tense. He felt a little hand join his and saw little Themba lay her head on Jabu’s back.

“Now my mother always used to blow on my skinned knees when she cleaned them,” Charlie put his hand on Themba’s head as he leaned away and blew gently on the injury. He didn’t know what made him but he leaned down and kissed above the score on her arm. “My mom always did that too.”

Jabu stared into his purple eyes and her tears dried up as she watched him intently while he bandaged her arm. She touched his cheek, “Thank you.”

Charlie smiled as he watched Themba crawl into her aunt’s arms and snuggle close.
