#AuthorInterview – “A Fallacious Seduction” by Virginia Barlow

Welcome, Virginia! Thanks for chatting with me today! Let’s get started…

What kind of research did you do for A Fallacious Seduction?

I have been to Wyoming many times. I use the internet a lot to do my research.

Do any of your characters take over and write the book themselves sometimes?

Yes. Shanna woke me up several times in the night because she wanted me to add something to her story.

What do you prefer: ebook or print? Why?

I prefer print because I can pick it up anywhere and read it. I can use a bookmark to keep my place and I don’t have to worry about having an internet connection or losing my place.

How long have you been writing?

I have been writing romance for the last two years. Before that I wrote stories for my kids.

When did you decide to become an author?

I wanted to be an author for years. Usually I was too busy with my kids to get to it.

What did you do when you received your first Acceptance Letter?

I literally jumped up and down, and then re-read the letter.

All writers suffer from writer’s block at least once in their career. What’s your go-to cure?

When I get so I can’t think, I put the manuscript away. I go play with my grandkids or go for a walk. Usually I get a great idea within a day or two.

We all need a little inspiration in our lives. What’s your favorite quote and why?

“Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you.” Princess Diana.  I like this quote because I believe the world needs more kind people.

Blurb

When the train US Marshal Reese Calhan is riding on explodes, he is one of two survivors. Trouble is, the other survivor is the woman who betrayed him years ago. A woman he thought was dead.  This time he will not fall prey to her wiles. He’ll see the vixen jailed for her crimes if it kills him.

Recovering from a recent jilting and now a train explosion Shanna Johnston has no idea why the handsome stranger insists he knows her and calls her by another woman’s name. His heated looks and knowing kisses spark a fire in her she cannot ignore– even as her own mysterious past is closing in.

Excerpt

“I know you remember. Quit playing games, Jenna and answer the question.” He let the hammer down slow on his gun and put it back in its holster. “Tell me what I want to know and I won’t hurt you.” His voice was smooth as Tennessee whisky. It wrapped around her and settled in her stomach. His blue eyes gazed into hers, and Shanna nearly swooned on the spot. With his gun safely in its holster and no longer distracting her, she realized he was more than handsome. he was perfect.

Her mouth dried, and her palms started to sweat. She must have hit her head hard. She dropped her gaze and sucked in some air. She couldn’t remember what she was saying. This is crazy! Who is this man! “I don’t remember you because I don’t know you.” It was the truth. She would have remembered a man like him.

 The man laughed.

Shanna turned away from the husky sound of his voice. It warmed her through. The last time a handsome man paid attention to her, she jumped in with her whole heart and both feet. She almost drowned. Best get some distance between her and the stranger before she did something she regretted.

Author Bio

I am in my fifties and I love my life. I am a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and best friend. My granddaughter calls me “grandmuddy” so I am that too! I believe in family. I believe in magic and I believe in the power of love. I, also, believe in happily ever afters. My happy times are when I am curled in front of the fire with a glass of wine and a romance book in my hand.

My husband came up with the name for this book. He liked the word “fallacious” and thought I should write a book and use it in the title. I had to look up the definition. Once I did, an idea grew in my mind. I enjoyed writing this book. It grew a life of its own and pretty much wrote itself. I hope my readers enjoy it as much as I do.
