Blurb
The danger and lies are more than she can handle.
Shea O’Bannon feels like a fifth wheel around her romantically paired-off friends, but there’s too much slime in the dating pool for her to bother with it. Then she sees her two-timing ex, Trevor Madero, serenading the mostly female crowd at a live-music bar. God knows trouble follows him around, but her desire for him rushes back in anyway. After he rescues her from a handsy drunk, temptation takes over.
Determined to prove he never stepped out on Shea, Trevor slides back into her life—and her heart—with forever in mind. Even with the wall he keeps up to protect her, his secret criminal life weighs heavy on his soul and drives a wedge between them.
When the truth comes out and his enemies target them both, they’ll have to fight for their love, or kiss it goodbye.
Tagline: Will the truth send her running, or will she fight for the man she loves?

“Oh my God.” Shea gaped at Trevor a week later. Water dripped down his bare, hairy chest and muscled arms in oh-so-lickable beads as he held his green jersey shirt. His low rider jeans sharpened the cut of his hips. Why did he answer his door half naked? She craved his skillful touch, but no way would she let him wipe every coherent thought from her mind.
“Hi, Shea. See something you like?”
Hell, yes. His cocky grin and shower-fresh citrus scent heated her bloodstream to molten lava. A devilish gleam lit his eyes until he dropped his gaze to the old gym bag she carried.
He’d left the bag of clothes and toiletries at her place the first night he spent there.
“You’ve decided.” Hollowness roughened his voice.
“I hope now isn’t a bad time.” The words tore from her constricting throat.
She’d texted him to let him know she wanted to come over, so he probably expected a declaration of love and lots of sex. It played out that way in her dreams, but real life had kicked her in the teeth.
“There’s never a good time to get dumped. Come in.” He stepped back.
She swiped her tongue across her dry lips and crossed the threshold. The fine hair on her nape rose as he shut the door. “Here are your things.” She offered him the bag.
His eyebrow rocketed to his hairline. He tugged on his shirt and fluffed out his damp curls from the neckline. The locks trailed across his shoulders and moistened the fabric.
Ooh. She itched to touch his hair. Damn him.
She blew out a long breath and dropped the bag by the DVD shelf. Just get it over with. Rip off the bandage.
