Detectives Andi Sugarbaker and Viktor Saltanov go undercover in an Age Play
(Daddy Dom/babygirl sub) kink club, they’re in for the ride of their lives.
Berkeley, the owner of the club, is producing and selling a dangerous street
drug called ‘Please.’ The drug makes women so desperate for physical
stimulation that their heart stops beating if they don’t have very intense sex
or a black-and-blue beating. It’s Andi and Salt’s job to stop him, but they
never expected their platonic partnership to develop into something more.
loudmouth woman and considers herself vanilla. Salt is quiet, protective, and a
force to reckon with if anyone tries to harm Andi. They both have father
issues, especially Andi, and she’s having a very hard time adjusting to the
role of a submissive, so much so she nearly blows the investigation. After
three years of being partners, I just couldn’t understand her inability and
downright unwillingness to trust Salt as her friend and lover. She often acted
out and misbehaved when she needed to play the innocent, playful kid/teenager
to gain Berkeley’s trust. Salt conformed to the daddy role just fine, but Andi
just couldn’t play along.
romance novel, I found it odd Salt and Andi had sex (penetration) only once, but
they did fool around a lot.
could use a light edit to fix missing quotation marks at the beginning and
ending of a few sentences. It wasn’t much, but enough to distract me.
few unanswered questions. Who’s the mole in the police department? Why did
Andi’s father leave when she was a child?
written in Andi’s first POV with a lot of internal dialogue.
best part of the book. Who wouldn’t love a stoic, gorgeous Russian man with a
sexy accent and lots of protective, romantic, authoritative instincts? YUM!
Andi didn’t realize how lucky she was to have a man like him in her life until
they joined The Institute. It’s the best thing that ever could’ve happened to
them.
