#BookReview: “The Midnight Carousel” by Hanna Park

Blurb

Belle Stanhope had plans. Good plans. Practical plans.

None of them involved Hudson Carver.

The florist with the crooked smile had become a distraction she neither wanted nor could avoid. Which was inconvenient, considering the Pretty River Inn and the upcoming bachelor auction left little room for distractions.

Hudson had been content with the life he’d made for himself beneath Christmas Mountain. His flower shop and the friends who had become family were more than he’d ever expected.

Then he met Belle Stanhope.

As Christmas approaches, the carousel’s calliope sings off-key, and the old magic Hudson left behind begins to stir. The life he’s built is colliding with the past he thought he’d escaped—and choosing Belle may mean giving up the road back forever.

In Forest Falls, wishes have a way of finding the people who need them most.

Review

Belle Stanhope is busy managing the Pretty River Inn in Forest Falls and far too busy to act on her attraction to Hudson Carver, the handsome, secretive florist whom she can’t stop daydreaming about. But little does she know that magic is brewing this holiday season.

Belle and Hudson are a wonderful couple. She’s practical, witty, and independent, while Hudson is more guarded, struggling with questions about his identity and where he belongs. I loved watching these two lonely people find their way to each other.

I also enjoyed the festive atmosphere throughout this book. Ms. Park does a wonderful job bringing Forest Falls to life with its snowy streets, Christmas lights, charming little shops, and holiday traditions. The carousel is probably one of the most important places in the book, and I would love to take a ride on it.

Overall, The Midnight Carousel is a great pick for readers who enjoy small-town Christmas settings, witty characters, slow-burn romance, and supernatural secrets. It’s a story about love, trust, and discovering that home might be closer than you think.
