Review
This short, sweet story is all about finding love, forgiving yourself for past mistakes and moving on from those mistakes. Christian and his granddaughter stay at a bed and breakfast for Christmas and they meet Joy who owns the B&B. This is the first book I2527ve read with older characters falling in love (she2527s 48 and he2527s in his 502527s) but you learn that, no matter your age, love is still love and you2527re never too old to have fun.
They2527ve both made mistakes and experienced devastating losses. Christian has moved on better in my opinion than Joy, but I believe that2527s because he has a loving granddaughter in his life while Joy has no one. Their relationship starts off fast, a little too fast for Joy, but a sweet and romantic love blossoms between them. This story is a feel-good romance I2527m sure many women could relate to.
I believe I received an ARC due to a few punctuation errors and random dashes scattered throughout the book. The story is written by a British author and, as an American reader, I felt a little confused at times due to various British words and phrases I2527m unfamiliar with. This didn2527t take away from the story, per se, but I did have to re-read a few sections to understand what was said or what had happened.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to reading more by Amanda Ward.
