Review – ‘Waiting for Mistletoe’ by Natasha Lane

Review

Amelia is a private, headstrong
yet emotionally-disturbed woman who loves movies and works at a bookstore. She
has a good heart, especially toward those less fortunate, but she2527s afraid to love
and trust.
Tommy is a carefree guy who2527s
completely smitten with Amelia. The problem is… they2527ve never met. He watches
her from afar and, when he finally summons the courage to talk to her, he messes
up and scares her away. He still pursues and soon she realizes he2527s not a bad
guy (though he needs to grow a backbone when it comes to his family).
Their romance slowly built over
the course of the novella and Tommy slowly cracks through the ice around her
heart. Tommy deserves his props for sticking at Amelia2527s side when most men
would2527ve high tailed it out of there because of her bad attitude. Personally, I
would2527ve left her high and dry. So good job, Tommy.
Sammy was a great secondary character. He’s a kind, giving homeless man and Amelia’s only friend. I wish I could’ve learned more about him and I got teary-eyed over what happened to him at the end of the book.
This book is written in First
Person and I found it confusing at times. (I prefer Third Person.) Each
chapter/scene was designated to Amelia or Tommy, so you2527d know who was
speaking, but sometimes the author wrote in the POV of Michael, Tommy2527s best
friend. So when I read from Mike2527s POV, I thought I was reading from Tommy2527s
because I2527m not used to a side character sharing his thoughts. So I had to
reread now and then to figure out what was going on.
Other than a few confusing POVs
(which is entirely my issue – other readers may not have a problem with it), the
book is well-written without any typos. It2527s the first book I2527ve read by
Natasha Lane and it won2527t be the last.
4 Stars.
