Molly just landed her dream job as a web developer for a huge real estate firm right out of college. She2527s hardworking, dedicated and smart. The problem? She2527s a doormat. Her boss, Mr. Pendleton, forces her to pet-sit his Poodles over Christmas week or he2527ll fire her. He doesn2527t come right out and say he2527ll fire her, but he hints at it. His wife gives Molly a long list of housekeeping chores to do each time she stays over to pet-sit. Molly never stands up for herself because she2527s afraid of losing her job. This time around, though, she2527s also roped into watching one neighbor2527s Rottweilers, another neighbor2527s Boxer, and yet another neighbor2527s Pekinese and a cat. All at the last minute too.
The only bright light in her life is her boss2527s next door neighbor, Chris. Chris is home for college for three weeks and his parents are feuding with the Pendletons. He helps her take care of the animals, his parents treat her like a person, not a servant, and they become fast friends.
This is a sweet New Adult romance centered on Molly2527s inability to say no to her boss. Chris is very sweet, as is his family, and their romance develops at a slow, steady pace.
Even though I couldn2527t connect with Molly, I liked Chris and enjoyed this story overall. Other than a few typos, it2527s well-written and I can2527t wait to read more from the author.
