Dizziness swamped Drina from the mind-blowing orgasm. Knees weak, she leaned against Rubén, trusting him to support her weight. Sexual bliss and relief that she’d gone without for so many years now flooded her bloodstream. No one had ever revved her up like this, not even Jacinto. Her pounding heart skipped a beat. Jacinto—her sweet, kind, loving husband, long dead. Shame consumed her from the inside out. With all the strength she could muster, she steadied her feet on the tile, gently pried Rubén’s hand from her messy hair, and turned to face him.

He sucked on his sticky fingers and groaned. “You taste better than I remember.”

She ducked her head. Rubén was right—he was an incredible lover. If he could get her off on a hand job alone, she wouldn’t stand a chance against him. With shaky hands, she righted her clothes. The slickness between her thighs sullied her. Stained her. Pain clenched her chest, ruining what should’ve been a glorious afterglow. If only she truly wanted him. If only he weren’t a monster.

“Is that how it is? I get you off, but you let me suffer?”

“What do you want from me?” she whispered, on the verge of breaking down. God save her. She craved this enigmatic man, and she despised him at the same time.
