#BookReview – “Getaway Girl” by Lisabet Sarai

Blurb

Be careful what you wish for.

All Peg wants is a break, a bit of adventure, a relief from her mundane existence in the bucolic but boring Yorkshire hamlet of Kirkby Malzeard. When dashing, sophisticated journalist Lionel Hayes saunters into the pub where she’s tending bar, Peg suspects that he was just the sort of man to fulfill her fantasies of escape.

The seductive Lionel, however, is not what he seems. Before she knows it, Peg is a hostage, roped and gagged, speeding away from the scene of a daring crime. Lionel is armed and dangerous, but somehow Peg still wants him – regardless of the consequences.

Review

In this erotic short story, barmaid Peg is tired of her boring village life and wishes for excitement. Then she meets a handsome, charming customer who turns out to be so much more—the thief who takes her hostage!

I enjoyed Peg’s sexy, adventurous romp with the rogue Lionel, but I wish the story had been longer to flesh out the characters and give more depth to their relationship. I don’t mind instalove stories, but this one was a little too quick for me.

Readers, if your reading time is limited and you want something hot with a fun premise, this quickie is for you.
