Trevor’s Redemption
The danger and lies are more than she can handle.
Shea O’Bannon feels like a fifth wheel around her romantically paired-off friends, but there’s too much slime in the dating pool for her to bother with it. Then she sees her two-timing ex, Trevor Madero, serenading the mostly female crowd at a live-music bar. God knows trouble follows him around, but her desire for him rushes back in anyway. After he rescues her from a handsy drunk, temptation takes over.
Determined to prove he never stepped out on Shea, Trevor slides back into her life—and her heart—with forever in mind. Even with the wall he keeps up to protect her, his secret criminal life weighs heavy on his soul and drives a wedge between them.
When the truth comes out and his enemies target them both, they’ll have to fight for their love, or kiss it goodbye.

The sappy jazz hit faded. As an upbeat romantic classic blared from the speakers, he drew back and spun her around.
Laughter peeled from her lips. She twirled and collided with his chest. “Oops.”
“I gotcha.” He wrapped his arms back around her and waggled his eyebrows. A delicious shade of bright pink infused her face and traveled down her neck. How far did the blush go? Were her breasts the pinkest of pinks or maybe a sexy fuchsia color?
She stroked his cheek. “I’m happy I came, but I’ll probably leave with Calista soon.”
“I’d rather you stay, but if you did, you’ll end up meeting every member of my family.”
“If they’re all like Marcie…”
He laughed as she let the implication trail off. “No worries there. My aunt’s the worst of the bunch, so we got the biggest challenge out of the way.”
“I’d think your mother would be the biggest challenge.”
“Nah, Mom’s cool. She doesn’t heap on the pressure as Marcie does.” His chest tightened. He spun Shea again.
Even though Elenore Madero wanted him to settle down and make babies, she’d long given up on that dream.
Trevor hadn’t. He wanted the whole she-bang—wife, kids, house, dog. Just because he followed in his bastard father’s footsteps and worked for Capularia didn’t mean he would hit his wife and kids if he had them. Hell, no. His mother and sisters never pumped him for details about his secret life, but what would Shea do—trust him to keep her safe or badger him with questions?
Despite the lilting song, he pulled Shea close again. She murmured a soft sigh that kicked his need for her into overdrive. He hugged her as hard as he dared.
Could he build a relationship with her based on secrets and lies? What was it about her that weakened his knees—her kindness, her beauty, the vulnerability in her eyes that matched the pain inside him? He should let her go for her own safety, but the pieces of his heart and soul not yet tarnished yearned for her. He’d lost her once already—he couldn’t handle that again.
“What’s going on?” Shea leaned back and lightly squeezed his shoulders. “You’re so stiff and tight, and your heart is pounding like mad. I can almost hear your mind racing.”
His throat clogged. Pressure throbbed in his temples. Would the truth push her away? “Let’s get some air.” He twisted his arm around hers and pulled her across the room.
“Oh—um—okay.
