#BookReview: “Capturing Karma” by K.M. Daughters

Blurb

Veterinarian Matty Connors’ visions lead her to homicide detective Brian Sullivan once again despite her resolve to remain anonymous the past four years. Her official work with the police in California resulted in the brutal murder of her fiancé, and since, a recurrent nightmare she barely survives.

Brian, the reputed ladies man of the Sullivan family, has yet to give his heart to a woman until Matty lays claim to it. His black-and-white approach to solving crimes doesn’t jibe with Matty’s spooky pronouncements or her reputation for alleged infallibility.

A wild goose chase searching for a murder weapon casts doubt on Matty’s “truths” and threatens their smoldering romance. Is Brian her nightmare slayer and ultimate truth? When the puzzle pieces fall in place for Brian, will it be too late to save Matty?

Review

In book three in The Sullivan Boys series, homicide detective Brian Sullivan doesn’t expect a car to hit him while he’s already running late for his brother’s wedding. But Madeline Connors isn’t just anybody. She’s a psychic who has information on Brian’s case.

Matty doesn’t want to involve herself in yet another police matter, but she’s driven to help those in need. Brian is skeptical of her gift, but neither of them can ignore their growing attraction as they work the case together.

Brian and Madeline (Matty) are great characters. I haven’t read the other books in this series, but I loved Brian’s large, noisy family. His siblings, their spouses, and his parents are kind, warm-hearted people.

I listened to an audiobook version of this story. The narrator, Ted Brooks, did an amazing job with his rough, sexy Irish accent.

For anyone who likes romantic suspense with a psychic twist, check out this book.
