After the storm come the Rainbows
Retired and widowed Gloriana Jones is forging on with the plans she and her late husband dreamed of—bringing joy and happiness, one ice cream cone at a time, to Lake Unami. But bad weather is drowning her dream.

A trip to Upstate NY is bittersweet for Nathan James. He is excited to see his first granddaughter but without his wife he’s lonely. When his car breaks down, he heads to the only light he can see, an ice cream shop.

With aid from a heavenly source, electricity sparks, but will the two weather the summer storms and find love a second time? Or will their hopes and dreams melt away?

Review

Gloriana Jones still loves and misses her deceased husband, but she’s doing her best to move on and live their dream—owning a successful ice cream shop. Then a handsome man wanders into her shop to escape the storm blasting the area. For the first time in years, she feels the tingle of attraction.

Nathan James’s car breaks down unexpectedly in the middle of a storm, and the ice cream shop is the only building lit up on the street. He takes refuge there, never imagining he would meet a woman who could fill the hole in his heart.

This is a super sweet story about living life after loss and falling in love again. Gloriana and Nathan are wonderful and real characters, and they’re dealing with their emotional issues and stresses with poise and strength. I haven’t read many stories with older characters (she’s 45, and he’s 50), so this was a treat.

All the mentions of ice cream definitely got me hungry for some, so make sure your freezer is stocked before you read this story.
