#BookReview – “The Boy Who Came Back a Wolf” by Kara Lockharte

Blurb

He wasn’t what she wanted.
He wasn’t right for her.
She was wrong–so wrong.

When Lauryn Daring rejected skinny Xavier Stone’s advances in high school to build an empire in the big city, she had no idea the mistake she was making. But after years apart, the man that walks back into her life is far from the geek she once knew. Xavier changed–in all the right ways. After being stationed on a dangerous planet of werewolves for nearly ten years, the tall, rugged, ferocious, and undeniably sexy soldier is back for what he’s wanted all along: Lauryn.

And this time, Lauryn won’t be able to resist.

Review

In this Space Shifter Chronicles prequel, real estate entrepreneur Lauryn Daring hasn’t heard from her childhood best friend, Xaxier Stone, in ten years. Now, he’s leaving the military and needs a place to stay, so she offers to help him out. She’s always regretted pushing him away and denying her romantic feelings for him, and now she wants to make things right.

Lauryn and Xavier were interesting characters, but this story is a pretty short. The sex scenes were super hot but happened long before the characters even get to know one another again. There were a few editing issues, but I liked the story and the sci/fi world building.
